JBE Musical Registration

Jesse Boyd Elementary Musical Production Contract:

We are so excited to announce that this year’s musical production will be “ARISTOCATS...KIDS!” Please make sure you read all the information carefully and print clearly for all contact information and phone numbers.

COST: Our musicals are NOT funded through the district. Production fees are $50 per

child, with a $10 discount for families with multiple children. (1 student: $50, 2 students:

$90, 3 students: $130). This is an all-inclusive fee that covers your child’s production

t-shirt, costumes, props, video link rights, and photos. 

Sponsors: If you would like to sponsor a child in the musical, please contact Mrs. Odom.

We will be double casting this year, however, casting will not split until after Christmas break. Students need to be at ALL REHEARSALS according to the play calendar. 

Some rehearsals will only be for specific small groups. Check your calendar and read it closely.

Musical Calendar Schedule: Please make sure you are checking your child’s schedule for rehearsals. Your child may or may not be needed at every rehearsal. Schedules will be sent home September 19th and will be available in your child’s Play Group on Schoology.

Backstage Crew applications are due 9/12 and are a separate process (4th and 5th gradeonly). This Contract is only for cast members.

Dates of Importance:

- Tuesday September 10th: Start accepting fees and forms. (This gives everyone 8 days to return their completed sign-up forms and pay their fees).

- Wednesday September 18th: DEADLINE FOR FEES/AUDITION FORMS

- Friday, September 20th: Audition dates and times given out

- Tuesday, September 24th: 5th Grade Auditions

- Wednesday, September 25th: 4th Grade Auditions

o Audition Information:

▪ Grades 2-3: Do not audition. If you sign up, you are a part of the cast.

▪ Grades 4-5: Auditions will take place September 24 (5th Grade) and September 25 (4th Grade) after school- you will be assigned a time to come and audition. “No shows” will be removed from the production.

Every child that signs up is a part of the cast. Students who are involved in other clubs that conflict with rehearsals may not receive a

main character role. Call backs may be needed on September 26th during school hours.

- Pre-show Dancer forms will go home in January for K4-1st students.

 March 11th-13th Performances: Everyone in the production will be expected to CLEAR THEIR CALENDARS THIS WEEK! No doctor/ dentist appts,

ball games, lessons, etc. NO EXCEPTIONS!

By my child signing up (and auditioning for older students), I understand the work ethic and commitment required for my child to participate. I understand that my child will attend all afterschool rehearsals. (NOTE: WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE SCHEDULE, CHECK FOR CONFLICTS FOR ALL APPOINTMENTS. IF THERE IS A CONFLICT, CALL THEIR OFFICE AND PLEASE RESCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER DAY THAN A REHEARSAL DAY). I understand that it is my responsibility to provide transportation after rehearsals for my child and to pick my child up ON TIME! I understand that there will be some financial responsibility ($50 cast) and their costumes will be provided EXCEPT FOR SMALL ITEMS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE PRODUCTION STAFF. I understand that my child MUST keep their academic work at a high level. I understand any infractions of school rules, an office or bus referral, and the breaking of any rules set forth by the production team will result in immediate removal from the cast. I will encourage my child to be balanced and I will ensure proper rest and nutrition to keep them healthy. I will support my child, encourage my child, and remind my child to have fun, make new friends, accept responsibility, and to be self-disciplined. 

I will go over these rules with my child and make sure they understand what they mean.
