Description:

Join the Spartanburg community on May 18 in supporting Partners for Active Living and the Keep OneSpartanburg Beautification project. Your donations will help promote a healthy, vibrant downtown, increase visibility for PAL here in Spartanburg and ensure funds go towards helping beautify and revitalize our county.

Waiver

The undersigned (the “Participant”) desires to participate in the Run Downtown Spartanburg 5K walk and/ or run (the “Event”). Partners for Active Living, the City of Spartanburg and the event sponsors welcome the Participant’s participation in the Event but require that the Participant execute this document as a condition of participation.

The Participant acknowledges that running and/or walking is inherently dangerous and assumes all risk of injury that may arise in connection with his or her participation in the Event and all activities incidental to the Event, including, but is not limited to, travel to and from the Event site. The Participant hereby releases Partners for Active Living, the City of Spartanburg and the event sponsors and their respective trustees, officers, directors, members, managers, shareholders, employees, agents, volunteers, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all Liabilities, as defined below. The Participant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, costs, expenses (including, but not limited to, attorneys’ fees), losses, damages, liabilities, and causes of action of any kind whatsoever arising out of, from, or in any way related to the Participant’s participation in the Event (collectively, the “Liabilities”). The Participant understands and agrees that the release affected by this document is and shall be effective for the duration of the entire period of time during which the Participant is taking part in the Event and related activities and shall survive Participant’s participation in the Event and related activities.

The Participant agrees to abide strictly by the instructions provided by Partners for Active Living, the City of Spartanburg and the event sponsors and its employees and agents with respect to running and walking safety and access to private property. My signature also grants permission to Partners for Active Living to distribute pictures taken during the Event to newspapers, newsletters and websites and add my email address to Partner for Active Living’s weekly email update.
